Give Your Packaging a New Purpose
At Harvest Heroes, we care about sustainability as much as you do! Now, customers in select areas (check your account for details) can leave certain packaging out for collection when we deliver your order. We’re one of the few national online grocers to provide this service—free of charge. It’s our way of helping you shop with the planet in mind.
How it works
Gather your clean gel packs, egg carton liners, and silver insulated liners
The night before your delivery, place them where our drivers typically drop off your Harvest Heroes box. (Need to give special instructions? Head to your Delivery Instructions on your Account page!) Please ensure gel packs are in good condition—no leaks or tears.
On delivery day, we’ll pick up your reusable packaging (maximum 10 items)
Gel Pack
We’ll take your used gel packs and partner with local facilities to sanitize and reuse them.
•If they’re damaged or leaking, please drain them first.
•Drain Safe gel packs can go down the drain safely. If they aren’t, simply empty the gel into the trash before recycling the outer material.
Egg Carton Litters
♶ LDPE Plastic #4 (made with post-industrial recycled material)
We’ll recycle these protective egg liners, or you can take them to any flexible film recycling drop-off.
Silver Insulated Liners
♶ LDPE Plastic #4 (made with 30%+ post-industrial recycled material)
We recycle these insulating liners that keep your groceries fresh. Alternatively, reuse them for personal projects—whether it’s a DIY cooler or packaging for shipping!

Recycled Fiber Boxes
Break down the box and place it in your curbside recycling bin.
Glass Containers
Clean out your glass jars and bottles—they can be recycled endlessly.
Aluminum Cans
Rinse your aluminum cans before recycling so they’re ready to be reused again and again.
